Umbrella Applique

Odisha is widely known for its applique handcrafts skill which is started from a place PIPILI of puri district. Appliqué is an ornamental needle work in which pieces or patches of fabric in different shapes and patterns are sewn or stuck onto a larger piece to form a picture or pattern. It is commonly used to make decorative items, also on garments. The technique is accomplished either by hand stitching or machine. Appliqué is commonly practised with textiles. Above one is an umbrella which is used as an decoratve item but unlikely other decorative umbrellas it is not only under this condition but also one can use it at hot summer / rainy season to protect him/her own. waterproof fabric is used to make this umbrella.
